$3.1B in Stolen Binance Crypto Has Yet to Be Laundered: Elliptic

About $3.11 billion of the $6.43 billion stolen from Binance last month remains in addresses linked to the theft, mostly ETH and Bitcoin, and Elliptic says it is very likely still held by North Korea. About $2.85 billion (44% of the haul), mostly stablecoins, has been frozen or seized, compared with around 3% after the Bybit hack in February 2025. The laundering has used more than 20,000 wallets on 16 blockchains, with about $124 million converted into Bitcoin so far, while Binance says it is restoring services and aims to reopen withdrawals by the end of next week.
