Akash to spearhead BSP campaign in three poll-bound states

Mayawati has given her nephew Akash Anand, the BSP national convener, greater responsibility as he prepares to launch his campaign in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Uttarakhand. Akash has already held four public meetings in UP since Aug 10 and will resume campaigning after the festivals, with meetings planned in Bijnor, Ayodhya and Kanpur Dehat. His public meetings aim to mobilise voters, seeking votes for party candidates and highlighting welfare measures from the BSP's four terms in power in UP.
