Binance CFO steps down nine days after record hack; co-CEO says transition was planned six months ago
Binance CFO Kaiser Ng is stepping down after more than five years at the exchange and will be replaced by Justin Yek, formerly a finance executive at Airwallex. Co-CEO Yi He said Ng is pursuing a new venture and that a transition plan had been in place for the past six months; the statement gave no departure date or new venture details. The change follows the Oct. 29 hack, in which more than $6 billion was drained from Binance, which had replenished about 95% of affected assets by Nov. 2.
