Binance clients pull US$4.7bil after hack as crypto world studies fallout
Binance customers withdrew a net US$4.72 billion after hackers stole around US$6.3 billion in crypto, with the FBI attributing the attack to North Korea. The outflows represent 3.0% of assets on the platform; Binance said it will cover losses with company funds and has already raised US$6 billion from its treasury and insurance. Bitcoin recovered to above US$77,000 and analysts noted the fallout appeared limited with no widespread panic, though some funds moved to other exchanges like OKX and Gate.
