Binance crypto exchange suspends trades over North Korea-linked hack
Binance suspended trading after a suspected North Korea-linked hack resulted in $6.36 billion stolen across 10 blockchains, with blockchain analysts attributing the attack to TraderTraitor, an elite North Korean hacking unit. Binance froze about $3 billion in affected assets and said it would cover all hacking losses, while Tether and Circle froze $1.6 billion and $800 million respectively. Bitcoin dropped 3.2% to below $79,000 following news of the hack.
