Binance hack - who is behind it, is my money safe and what we know so far
Binance, the world's largest crypto exchange, suffered a $6.3bn hack believed to be the largest crypto hack ever, starting with a compromised DevOps engineer's laptop that gave attackers access to submit unauthorized withdrawal transactions. Co-CEO Richard Teng said Binance will cover all losses from its emergency reserve and company funds, with around $3bn of affected assets frozen so far. Some analytics firms point to North Korea's Lazarus Group as potential attackers based on similarities to previous incidents, though this is unconfirmed; Binance.us was not affected.
