Binance hackers had 8 weeks of access before $6.3B exploit, Security Alliance estimates
Security Alliance (SEAL) estimates North Korea-linked TraderTraitor gained access to Binance's systems about eight weeks before the $6.3 billion exploit on Oct. 29. SEAL says the group likely got in during September and can move through such systems with a high degree of stealth over long periods. Binance attributed the hack to a fake job interview that compromised an employee device and stole credentials to breach its wallet infrastructure; the FBI attributed the attack to TraderTraitor, which North Korea's Kim Yo Jong dismissed.
