Binance hackers used fake job interview in $6.3 bil. attack

Hackers stole $6.3 billion in cryptocurrency from Binance through a multi-stage attack beginning in June, compromising employees via a fake job interview and tampered software. The FBI blamed a North Korean hacking group; Binance froze $2.85 billion in assets and said it would repay affected customers. Binance detected 57 suspected North Korea-linked cyberthreats in 2026 and plans to increase investment in AI-enabled detection.
