Binance names new CFO days after $6.3 billion cryptocurrency hack
Binance named Justin Yek, a former Airwallex finance executive, as its new CFO, succeeding Kaiser Ng, who is leaving after more than five years to pursue a new venture. The company says the leadership transition was planned over six months ago and is unconnected to the Oct. 29 hack that stole about $6.3 billion in cryptocurrency. Binance says it has replenished 98% of affected token assets and about $2.85 billion in stolen assets has been frozen or intercepted, with the FBI attributing the attack to North Korean hackers.
