Binance says hackers used fake job interview to breach computer before $6.3 billion attack

Binance disclosed that hackers used a fake job interview to compromise an employee's computer, gaining access to wallet developer systems before stealing $6.3 billion in crypto on October 29. The attack began in June when an employee downloaded a tampered AI tool, followed by a second engineer downloading malicious code after a fake job interview in September. The FBI has attributed the hack to a North Korean group, which Pyongyang rejected; Binance is reimbursing affected customers and increasing AI-enabled security investments.
