Binance says its $6.3 billion hack started with a fake job offer
Binance disclosed that a $6.34 billion hack on Oct. 29 began with a fake job offer in September that delivered malware to an engineer's work computer. Attackers also compromised a wallet engineer in June through a tampered developer tool, then used stolen credentials on Oct. 29 to drain XRP, SOL, OP, Bitcoin and ETH from hot wallets. Binance says customers won't bear losses, having set aside over 100% of stolen funds and replaced 98% of affected tokens; $2.85 billion has been frozen or intercepted.
