BTCPay, a bitcoin payment tool, tells users to switch off their servers after reports of drained wallets

BTCPay Server, a free open-source bitcoin payment tool, urged users to shut down their servers after reports of attackers draining hot wallets. The theft appears to involve BTCPay Server versions older than 2.4.2; attackers gained administrator access but the method is unknown. This is the second security incident this year for BTCPay, following an August vulnerability that was patched in version 2.4.2.
