Crypto giant Binance freezes $2.5bn of assests over security issue

Binance froze $2.5bn in digital assets due to a security issue, temporarily suspending all deposits and withdrawals while investigating. Former CEO Changpeng Zhao confirmed it appears to be a hack; Tether and Circle also froze around $1.7bn in stolen assets. Binance said it will cover all losses and is working with law enforcement to trace additional stolen assets.
