'Crypto King' Aiden Pleterski tells jury he's innocent in closing statement at fraud trial
Aiden Pleterski, accused of fraud over $5,000, told the jury in his closing statement that he is innocent and that his lack of legal representation prevented him from proving it. Crown prosecutor Akshay Aurora argued Pleterski was a thief who stole over $36.3 million from investors and spent it on luxury cars, private jets, credit cards, and personal expenses rather than investing it as promised. Forensic audit evidence showed approximately $16.3 million in documented personal spending and $16.1 million paid back to investors from the stolen funds.
