'Crypto King' trial hears recording of Aiden Pleterski admitting $300M fund 'never existed'
Self-described 'Crypto King' Aiden Pleterski admitted in a June 2022 audio recording played at his Toronto fraud trial that his $300-million investment fund never existed. Pleterski had shown investors screenshots and videos of a $311-million FXChoice trading account balance weeks before confessing the fund was fake; he testified he lost the money trading and had been paying investors back with other investors' funds. Retired police officer Chris Winn, who invested $450,000 and recovered $330,000, testified that Pleterski told investors 'it's a Ponzi scheme' and hadn't traded any of the money.
