Crypto scammers are capitalizing on anti-Muslim bigotry

Researchers found scam accounts on X using anti-Muslim content to lure followers, then directing them toward fake investment schemes via direct messages. Over 220 accounts identified as engaging in financial or sex-bait scams, with about 90% based in Africa and others in South Asia, Italy, and Japan. The accounts impersonated Trump, Trump Jr., and JD Vance while claiming US location, exploiting rising anti-Muslim sentiment as engagement bait.
