Ethereum devs won't fork Glamsterdam on Hoodi until smart contract risks are resolved

Ethereum core developers delayed implementing the Glamsterdam upgrade on the Hoodi testnet until security concerns tied to eight smart contract invariants are resolved. The Ethereum Foundation said EIP-8037 and EIP-8038 change how gas is charged, which could invalidate assumptions that some existing projects rely on. The delay followed an Oct. 13 ChainSecurity report finding the EIPs could break contracts that depend on fixed gas assumptions when external calls fail.
