France backs reporting for self-custodied crypto worth 100K euros or more

French National Assembly approved an amendment requiring taxpayers to report self-custodied crypto holdings of 100,000 euros or more to tax authorities, passing 150-44 on Tuesday. The Assembly rejected an amendment that would have exempted crypto payment gains under 1,000 euros from taxation, defeated 69-14. The reporting requirement is part of the 2027 Finance Bill and requires final legislative approval by Nov. 17 deadline, with Senate debate beginning Nov. 20.
