Hackers Publish Work Details of 41,000 Homeland Security Employees
Hackers calling themselves the Department of Peace published names, job titles, office locations, and phone numbers for 41,000+ DHS employees and contractors through transparency nonprofit Distributed Denial of Secrets. The group claims they obtained the data from an Okta single sign-on service used by DHS; Okta disputes this, saying it has no evidence of compromise. The hackers said they acted in response to DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin's pledge to increase ICE operations, stating 'they have our information, so it's only fair that we have theirs.'
