Investors over 60 trade Bitcoin far more than Gen Z, data shows
BitcoinIRA data shows investors over 60 make up 41.4% of funded accounts and 46.9% of all trades on the platform, compared to just 2.6% of accounts and 1.2% of trades for those under 30. Investors aged 60 and older average 43 trades each versus 16 for those under 30, with a trade-intensity index of 1.13 for the older group - the only age bracket above the 1.0 baseline. The data suggests older investors are actively trading Bitcoin in retirement accounts rather than following a passive buy-and-hold strategy, contrary to typical retirement investor behavior.
