Investors take out $3.6bn from Binance after record hack that stole billions
Binance suffered a $6.3bn hack attributed to North Korea-affiliated group TraderTraitor on October 29, believed to be the largest crypto heist in history. After initially freezing withdrawals, Binance reopened them on Sunday with $4.6bn withdrawn and $1bn deposited, resulting in a net outflow of $3.6bn (2.1% of assets under management). Binance CEO Richard Teng said the company will cover the remaining 10% of stolen funds not yet replenished, and users will not bear the financial impact.
