MetaMask makes Stellar a default network, bringing global payments into the Open Money platform

MetaMask has integrated Stellar as a default network in MetaMask Mobile and Extension, allowing users to hold, send, and swap XLM and other Stellar assets directly. Stellar processed $55.6 billion in payment volume in 2025, up 52% year-over-year, with transaction settlement in roughly five seconds and fees of a fraction of a cent. Every MetaMask account now includes a Stellar address derived from users' existing recovery phrase, making Stellar the first major self-custodial platform to offer this integration.
