North Korea linked to $6.3B Binance hack by crypto investigators

Cybersecurity researchers from TRM Labs, Chainalysis, and onchain investigator ZachXBT have linked the $6.3 billion Binance hack to North Korea's TraderTraitor group with high confidence. Funds from the Binance hack and earlier Bitget exploit were commingled at the same address after moving through THORChain, indicating the same actor was behind both incidents. US authorities have previously linked TraderTraitor to other major crypto thefts including the Bybit hack and the $300 million DMM Bitcoin theft, with the group using social engineering to target company employees.
