North Korea's Bitcoin heist is worth 3x its exports and more than Tesla holds
FBI formally blamed North Korea's TraderTraitor hacking group for stealing over $6 billion from Binance, with 18,270 BTC ($1.4 billion) sent to a single address then split across 19 wallets. The stolen Bitcoin haul exceeds North Korea's annual exports by 3x, is 59% larger than Tesla's holdings, and nearly matches SpaceX's Bitcoin reserves. About $3 billion in stablecoins have been frozen by Tether and Circle, but Bitcoin lacks an issuer to block it and can only be stopped at exchanges; Bitcoin price fell 5% to $76,400 following the theft.
