OpenAI Launches GPT-6.1 Terra, Its Half-Good AI Model at Half the Price

OpenAI released GPT-6.1 Terra, a middle-tier AI model with 50% lower API costs than GPT-5.6 Terra and improved performance on computer use tasks. Internal testing shows factual error rates dropped from 53.6% to 16.7% at low reasoning effort, and coding task completion improved from 21.5% to 50.3% at maximum effort.
