Rice breaks ground on the Arc in the Ion District, expanding Houston's innovation ecosystem
Rice University broke ground on the Arc, a nearly 200,000-square-foot research and innovation building in Houston's Ion District. Rice will occupy about 40% of the building (80,000 sq ft) as lead tenant, with flexible lab and office space for researchers, companies, and entrepreneurs. The Arc will house Rice's new AI Foundry and support research in AI, machine learning, robotics, quantum science, and energy, designed to accelerate innovation commercialization.
