Riot Platforms ($RIOT) and Hut 8 ($HUT) Offload Large Bitcoin (BTC) Reserves to Maintain Business Operations

Riot Platforms ended September holding 2,418 BTC (about $202 million) after selling 20,264 BTC year-to-date for roughly $1.5 billion, with sales directed mainly to data-center funding. Riot signed a 15-year triple-net lease for its 910 MW Corsicana campus with a frontier AI lab, worth about $28 billion in total contract value. Hut 8 sold about 954 BTC in Q3 for $74.8 million, used nearly all of it to buy back shares, and later raised its buyback authorization to $1 billion.
