[ROUNDTABLE] Korea needs AI-ready ontology, should not end with developing models

Korean experts at a roundtable urged expanding AI strategy beyond model development to include AI-ready ontologies, infrastructure, and regulatory support. Rep. Lee Jun-seok's office converted 1.05 million procurement products and 2.8 million orders into ontologies, identifying 562.8 billion won in potential taxpayer misuse. Participants proposed creating a purpose-built AI test city in Saemangeum with relaxed regulations, and maintaining domestic AI models for sensitive national security applications.
