Tether, Circle freeze $2.38 billion after Binance reports security incident

Tether froze $1.57 billion and Circle froze $800 million in stablecoins after Binance reported a potential security incident and possible hack. Binance said user funds were safe and teams were investigating with urgency; Ripple also froze approximately $200 million related to the incident. Binance.US, a separate exchange, was not affected by the security incident.
