Venus Expands Liquidity Hub with Hub-Funded Spoke Markets A shared liquidity layer for more specialized lending markets across Venus, starting with tokenized ETFs. Venus Protocol is expanding its lending infrastructure with the introduction of Hub-Funded Spoke Markets, extending the Liquidity Hub from a unified deposit layer into a shared liquidity foundation for specialized lending markets. As Venus supports a broader range of assets and borrowing use cases, launching new markets efficiently becomes increasingly important. Traditionally, each new lending market needs to attract its own deposits before meaningful borrowing activity can begin, which fragments liquidity and slows the bootstrap process. Hub-Funded Spoke Markets introduce a more connected model. Instead of requiring every Spoke Market to build its own liquidity base from day one, liquidity deposited into the Venus Liquidity Hub can be allocated to eligible Spokes according to defined risk and allocation parameters. Depositors supply assets to the Hub, which allocates capital across supported opportunities. Borrowers interact directly with individual Spoke Markets, and the interest they pay flows back to support yield for Hub liquidity providers. In short, the structure separates where liquidity comes from and how each lending market is designed. Each Spoke remains a purpose-built lending market, built around a specific asset set, borrower segment, strategy or risk profile, with its own configuration and independent risk parameters. Its liquidity stays connected to the broader Venus ecosystem, while its risk stays separate. This gives Venus the flexibility to introduce specialized lending environments without changing the structure of the Core Pool. The first Hub-Funded Spoke Market is the bStock Index pool, built around tokenized ETFs. Users can supply QQQB and SPYB as collateral and borrow $USDT, $USDC and $U, with liquidity supplied by the Venus Liquidity Hub. Borrowing is open-term: there is no fixed maturity, and positions can be repaid at any time. Like every Spoke, the bStock Index pool runs with its own risk parameters and capped exposure, keeping its risk separate from the Core Pool. For borrowers, Spoke Markets create more purpose-built lending venues. For liquidity providers, capital supplied through the Hub can support a wider range of opportunities without manually moving funds between markets. The Hub itself takes on a bigger role: it is no longer only a destination for unified deposits, but an infrastructure layer that supplies capital to multiple specialized markets. Over time, this architecture can support new types of lending environments across Venus, including emerging assets, specialized collateral structures and institutional borrowing use cases, all connected through a common liquidity foundation. The Liquidity Hub supplies the capital; Spoke Markets define how that capital is used. With Hub-Funded Spoke Markets, Venus is moving toward a more modular lending architecture, where shared liquidity supports increasingly specialized markets without fragmenting capital. Shared liquidity. Specialized markets. More efficient capital. Explore Venus at venus.io.
