Wall Street backbone DTCC brings $30 trillion securities closer to blockchain with major banks
DTCC, the central U.S. securities clearinghouse, launched its tokenization service Wednesday, enabling 34 large-cap stocks, ETFs, and Treasury securities representing $30 trillion in market value to trade on blockchain. Twenty major financial institutions including JPMorgan, Bank of America, Citi, and Fidelity have signed agreements to access the service, with tokens backed one-for-one by securities held in custody. DTCC plans to add Stellar and Circle's Arc blockchain next year, with analysts projecting tokenized securities could reach $5.5 trillion market by 2030.
